"Golden milk" is known for its potential health benefits, especially due to the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of turmeric. Remember that you can always customize this recipe to suit your taste preferences and dietary needs.

Is This Beverage for Everyone? Golden milk is the perfect winter concoction for adults and children over the age of 6 ā€“ with younger children, it's a matter of caution and moderation. Why do I say that? Honestly, my whole family enjoys golden milk, even the little ones šŸ™‚ but I just worry that someone might overdo it with those aromatic spices ā€“ because they have some robust properties. And, of course, too much of anything isn't healthy. Children are more prone to various allergies and sensitivities, after all.

So, I recommend using common sense ā€“ and if in doubt, consult a doctor.

If you're not accustomed to using turmeric in your kitchen and your family isn't familiar with its taste, it might be a bit challenging at first. In such cases, I always suggest starting with a pinch and increasing the amount with each cup until you reach the recipe's quantity. Additionally, you can sweeten the beverage with honey or maple syrup.

Golden Milk During Pregnancy and Lactation

Contrary to common belief, we can't equate 'natural' with 'safe.' Therefore, if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor before reaching for a cup of golden milk. Make sure it's safe for you or whether it's better to wait until the next autumn-winter season.

Golden Milk and Diabetes

If you skip the 'flavored' version with honey or maple syrup, you essentially have a sugar-free beverage! So, even those with diabetes can enjoy the basic version of the recipe.

Preparing Golden Milk at Home: It couldn't be simpler! (Well, it can be even easier with our ready-made golden milk mix)

  1. Heat the milk.
  2. Thoroughly mix all the ingredients.
  3. And... it's ready!
  • If you prefer clear beverages, you can strain the ginger after boiling it before consumption.

How about Cold Golden Milk? This version is for those who haven't yet gotten over their childhood aversion to warm milk and a blanket šŸ˜† Prepare this recipe with well-chilled milk and/or add 2 ice cubes to the finished mixture.

So, how was it? Let me know in the comments which version you prefer: traditional Golden Milk or Cold Golden Milk?

How often should you drink it? I recommend having a standard cup (250 ml) 1-2 times a day, after meals.

And don't overdo it with the frequency, especially for children. While it's okay to drink it for a few consecutive days during a cold, doing it for a whole month might be a bit much šŸ˜‰ It's best to enjoy it from time to time and use common sense. Spices are great, but you can overdo it.Ā
